BioMedicines, Inc. Completes Phase 1b Enrollment with Biomed
101
Emeryville, CA - August 7, 2002 - BioMedicines, Inc. today
announced that it has completed enrollment in a phase 1b clinical
trial of its drug Biomed 101 in patients also receiving therapy

BioMedicines is developing Biomed 101 to mitigate the dose-limiting
toxicity currently associated interleukin-2 therapy.
"We have shown in this dose-escalation study that patients
treated with Biomed 101 are able to better tolerate interleukin-2",

Affairs. "We are also encouraged that the patients who received
increased numbers of interleukin-2 doses experienced fewer serious
side effects."

B4 receptor. BioMedicines has exclusive worldwide commercial rights
to this drug and has recently received patents covering its discoveries.
