BioMedicines, Inc. Names Thomas Alessi Vice President, Development

Emeryville - BioMedicines, Inc. today announced that it has named Thomas Alessi, Ph.D., as Vice President, Development. He will have responsibility for program management, manufacturing, and quality control.

Dr. Alessi received his doctoral degree in organic chemistry from the University of Rochester. He was a senior scientist at American Home Products, inventing several new classes of drugs. Dr. Alessi also has extensive experience in project management, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs. He has been responsible for managing the development of products in cancer, inflammation, and infectious diseases. He is credited with inventions resulting in new patents in both chemistry and pharmacology. Most recently, Dr. Alessi was Executive Director of Development for BioMedicines.
